You will need an archive software to read the contents of the files for your template. I use Winrar as it will expand just about all archive types.You are also going to need an editor to make the free template your own. Ex Designs CSS and Xhtml Validated templatesI would have to say this is my favorite source. All these templates are css and xhtml validated. What does that mean? You can visit here for a brief article by W3 Schools on the 3 main reasons for being sure your website passes validation. Basically the answer is that you want your website accessible by all browsers, and there are many more than just IE. And you want the website accessible by all people. Does your website have to be validated? No. And actually most top name website that appear in the top 5 of all search engines aren't validated. But they can afford for it not to be.
